Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the lungs that causes swelling and constriction of the airways which results in difficulty of breathing. Some triggering factors are allergens(dust, mold, pollen, etc.) or rapid temperature changes, which can be avoided to prevent an attack. Medicinal preventions include inhaled corticosteroids(help reduce swelling in airways) and anti-leukotrienes.
